May 13th, 2017: Pine Creek Paddle

Pine Creek, which runs though the famous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is a beautiful paddle — at least, it sure looks like it when hiking the canyon above or biking the trail beside the river!

We will be putting in below the canyon – where the scenery is still breathtaking, but we won’t be paddling for our lives — at the Rattlesnake Rock Access Area off 414, then stopping at the Hotel Manor in Slate Run for lunch and libations on their beautiful deck, overlooking the creek — and our boats. After lunch, we head back to the water, to our takeout at Ross Run. Pine Creek Outfitters is the recommended outfitter; but you are on your own to make those arrangements for rentals and shuttle services.
