On Saturday August 24th, join us for The Root Beer Float in Shickshinny! This is a Canoe and Brew paddle especially for kids. Rent boats and shuttle (or use your own) from Five Mountain Outfitters for a short 3-mile paddle with the kids. We’ll have boats for short forays from the boat launch, too. Non-paddling public welcome at Five Mountain Outfitters where we’ll enjoy root beer floats by Udder Delites, music4kids by Paul Loomis, adult beverages and homemade root beer by Five Mountain Brewing!

The price: FREE! However, if you want to use the shuttle, it’s $10 per head, including your boat. Kayak rentals are discounted at $30 per person and Brian has both single and tandem. I paddle with my 3.5 year old in a single kayak. Food and beverages are at cost.
If you need a boat or shuttle, contact the Brian Swingle of Five Mountain Outfitters directly at 570-885-0081 ASAP because they’ll run low on boats. Deadline for boat rental is Thursday, August 22nd.

Schedule
- 9:30 AM: meet at Five Mountain Outfitters to drop off vehicles and unload boats.
- 10:00 AM depart FMO via shuttle.
- 10:15 AM: arrive Union Township Boat Launch
- 10:30 AM: launch boats and depart on river.
- 12:00 PM: arrive Creary Park and head to FMO for Root Beer Floats!
